They made a marriage promise as preschoolers in 1995 – but what happened decades later was something no one saw coming…

At just 3 years old, Matt Grodsky stood in front of his preschool class and made a promise that everyone thought was simply adorable.
He said he was going to marry his childhood sweetheart, Laura.
Most people would probably forget a promise like that by the time they grew up. But Matt didn’t. 👀
The two had been inseparable as toddlers, spending weekends together, playing, watching movies and creating the kind of childhood memories that usually fade with time. Eventually, they went to different schools and even ended up attending colleges more than 1,600 miles apart.
But somehow, they found their way back to each other.
They reconnected in high school, began dating and later decided to make their long-distance relationship work while they were away at college. And by then, that childhood promise was looking a lot less like a joke.
During their senior year, Matt decided to take Laura back to the place where it all began — their preschool.
He had already asked her father for his blessing and secretly arranged for the proposal to be captured.
Then he got down on one knee.
Laura later recalled being stunned when she realized what was happening.
And just like that, the little boy who once told his classmates, “Just you wait,” had kept his word nearly two decades later.
They married on December 30, 2016 — turning a promise made at just 3 years old into a real-life love story. Today, they are celebrating 10 years of marriage and are now proud parents to two daughters, Lily and Hallie.
Sometimes childhood promises really do come true.
