It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Charlie Meza, who died on February 14 at just 9 years old. ๐
Charlie was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in 2020, when she was only three. From the very beginning of her journey, her mother chose to openly document Charlieโs life and battle with brain cancer, giving the world an intimate look at both the heartbreak and the hope that followed.
Over the next six years, tens of thousands of people followed Charlieโs story. More than 100,000 supporters watched her journey on Instagram, where her radiant smile, courage, and unwavering spirit brought comfort and inspiration to so manyโdespite the aggressive illness she faced ๐๐ผ
This past fall, Charlieโs health took a sudden turn for the worse as the cancer spread. Doctors attempted an experimental treatment, which her mother described as their โlast hope.โ In November, she shared a message of faith, writing, โExpecting the unexpected. Lean on God and not on my own logic and understanding.โ
Although Charlie later began a new steroid treatment, her pain intensified, and she was rushed to the hospital in January. By the end of the month, she returned home, where she entered hospice care surrounded by love.
On February 14, Charlie passed away peacefully. Her mother announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram, writing simply that โshe is free.โ
Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlieโs family, friends, and all who loved her. May this beautiful little girl rest in peace. ๐๏ธ๐น
