Ingredients:

For the Beef and Onion Gravy:

1 lb beef stew meat or flank steak (cut into strips)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 large onions (thinly sliced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup beef broth
½ cup dry red wine (optional)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp all-purpose flour (for thickening)
1 tbsp butter (optional, for finishing)
For the Fries:

4 large russet potatoes (peeled and cut into fries)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt (to taste)
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:

Prepare the Fries:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the potato fries in vegetable oil and spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Season with salt.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Cook the Beef and Onions:
While the fries bake, heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Sear the beef strips on all sides until browned (about 4-5 minutes). Remove the beef and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until softened and caramelized (about 10-12 minutes).
Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Make the Gravy:
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stirring to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add the red wine (if using), Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the gravy thickens slightly.
Return the beef to the skillet and simmer for another 5-7 minutes, until the beef is tender and fully cooked.
For a richer finish, stir in the butter (optional).
Serve:
Plate the crispy fries and generously top them with the beef and onion gravy.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
This Beef and Onion Gravy with Fries is a hearty, savory dish that’s sure to satisfy your cravings. The combination of tender beef, caramelized onions, and crispy fries is simply irresistible. Dig in and enjoy!
